About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

6 hours per week

We recently enrolled William into a half-day preschool. It is the same place that Cailyn attends. We really like the place and I especially love the drop-off policy: short and sweet. So each week I get 6 hours of time to myself. To go to the bathroom alone, shower and get dressed alone. It's my opportunity to run (read: keep my sanity) or get 12 hours worth of chores done in 6. I recently brought it up to Steven that I felt a little guilty that maybe we should be saving that money instead of spending it on the pre-school for the kids and to help me keep my sanity. I did after all decide to be a stay-at-home mom and all that entails. When Steven and I talked about it though he said that he felt it was good for the kids and good for me. There went my guilt. But I still can't shake a little feeling that I should be doing something a little more productive with my time like oh I don't know, make some money. In the meantime I'm going to keep cleaning and doing my chores and throw in a run every now and then. What do you think you would do with that time? Better yet, what do you think your husband would do with time like that if the tables were turned. Would he take out the trash, run the vacuum, scrub a toilet? Didn't think so. Husbands would catch up on their tv shows, take a dump that last longer than most deliveries and candy crush it. Then look up and say "Wow! Time really flew by. Guess I better get the kids." I read and interesting article about the time women vs. men spend working. Women have more unpaid hours than men without a doubt. I'll post the article below. I'd like to know how you spend your time and how your husband spends his. Just wondering who is in this boat with me.
