About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

A Tradition

Steven and I haven't been married long, going on two years now. Sure at times it feels like a lot longer and other times I can't figure out where time went. That having been said, we don't have a lot of traditions yet. In fact we've only spent one Thanksgiving and one Christmas together. Both seemed abnormal. Not bad, just not normal. We have never even passed out candy during Halloween. (Yes, I'm excited about it and I can't wait until we get to dress up, I mean dress up our kids to go trick or treating.) One tradition we have had from day one since we started dating is OU-Texas. I did't attend the University of Oklahoma but it wasn't hard to catch on to the importance of this weekend and rivalry. I did grow up watching Sooner football so I had some idea. This year was no exception. We drove down to Dallas, shacked up with Steve's best friend Jeramiah and went out on the town. This post isn't about the game or how much Texas really does suck. Did I just say that out loud? Oh well. It's about the positives of the weekend. I have a whole slew of them. Let's start with just a few.

7) Getting to see Steven's best friend and party all night with him. He truly is a party animal.

6) Meeting Jeramiah's girlfriend Jess. She's adorable and nice. Jeramiah, are you listening? Please don't ruin this for me. Thank you, Amen.

5) Cab rides. I know this may sound crazy but it's the ONLY time I ever ride in a cab. I think it's pretty fun. You never know what your drive will be like or how he/she drives. Call me nerdy but it's a thrill. This year our cab wrecked. While we were in it. We're still not sure how it happened. Our driver failed to notice a 2 ton duelly in front of him with a welded iron bumper. I suspect he lost his job.

4) Meeting new people. Like the arse hole who yelled in my ear the entire second half of the game. By the way, let me congratulate you. Congratulations grown man who yelled at a young lady. You are probably unemployed as you should be.

3) Fast food. We don't eat fast food ever. Well, hardly ever. It's my one chance on a road trip to scarf McDonald's and boy did I ever scarf on some McDonald's. Nuggets and a cheeseburger. It was delicious. Lord forgive me for I have sinned...

2) We saw Bill Gerber. He's an out of control bull in a China cabinet. This equals lots of spontaneity and fun. Ladies and Gentleman meet Bill Gerber:

1) This guy-
