About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

Message to average height people and online shoppers

I often peruse the sites of many of my favorite stores like Old Navy, Gap, DSW etc. I virtually do what you should never do in reality. I fill my cart or bag with dozens of items, mostly on sale, just as I would in a real store. I search for my right size, length and color add it to my basket and move on to the next aisle, let's say shoes. I search far and wide across the internet to find my size (11), the correct heel height and of course genuine leather. I add it to my basket or cart and move on. I add accessories, tights, belts, even make up at times. (Have you been to sephora.com? Virtually, it rocks my world.) Although my cart fills up pretty quickly with tops and scarves, accessories and shoes there is one thing I'm never able to find and that is the bottoms. I obviously search the tall section being 5'11''. To me and most of the people I've come into contact with this is an above average height. Most women aren't 5'11''. Most women aren't even 5'9''! Nothing against 5-foot-niners, it's just that you aren't 5'11'' and though it is only 2 inches, that's the difference between highwaters and the perfect length of jeans. My question to you (hello? anyone there?) is why are the tall bottoms the first to sell out? Why are they never available to me to place in my "cart" only to abandon later on. Although I won't make the purchase 99% of the time, I want to have the ability to add it to my cart, and think on it and leave it stranded somewhere out in the world wide web of shopping malls. Speaking of malls, wouldn't that be a great idea? A virtual shopping mall? It lists all the stores, and links to their websites, and you can stroll through. Maybe even order a Cinnabon at some point only to leave it laying at the cash register unpaid. Anyway, back to my original point- if you aren't really tall, stop buying tall jeans, slacks, khakis, trousers, skirts and dresses. I won't have anything to add to my cart if you don't. And if I can't add these things to my cart then I'm left with nothing but sheets and linens. Oh, that reminds me, I need to go shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond. We need a new toaster. Maybe this one time I'll make a real purchase instead of just "pushing" an empty cart around the store.
