One year down!

Steven and I celebrated our one year anniversary just this past Sunday. It was such an exciting day for many reasons. I also particpated in my first half-marathon. A half marathon is 13.1 miles. I have been training for this race since January and I can't believe it's already come and gone. The past month has been quite a whirlwind for Steven and I. We moved into our first house and things have been crazy since the day we closed. We purchased a new bed, dressers, television and desk. I feel like we finally have things in some sort of order so hopefully I'll be able to keep everyone updated on a semi-regular basis. The half marathon I particpated in is called the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. It is in remembrance of those lives lost or changed by the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. It was such an amazing experience for me. For one I love our state and city so the race was a great, albeit very small, way for me to give something. Also it was so amazing to see all the people who turned out for this special event. There were over 19,000 runners and walkers, 6,500 of which ran the half-marathon. I saw many people running with a name and/or a picture of someone they lost in the bombing. I also saw a man with Jaeger, middle-aged gypsies dancing, and the inside of a portapotty. After about mile 8 a bathroom break was very necessary. It was just incredible to see the turnout and events. If anyone decides to experience it personally you can visit us next year and participate yourself!

After I finished the race. It only took 2:10! (Not exactly fast but I was steady!)

Note: I ate a cheeseburger about 20 minutes after this picture was taken. And it was only 9:30 in the morning. I loved everybite.

I really am happy. It's just. . .I ran 13 miles. I was pretty exhausted.

These babies are retiring very soon.

You've carried me through a lot but it's time now to move on.
