This week William started a two-day-a-week progrom at the same preschool where Cailyn attends. He will go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-12:30. This will be interesting for a few different reasons. One, William has never been in an out of home setting. After I had William Steven and I made the decision for me to stay at hom with the children thus beginning my long career as a stay-at-home mom. Second, he usually takes a morning nap. He will take a nap anywhere from 10:00 to 11:30 and sleep for a couple of hours. Not only will he be out of his usual setting but he will be tired as well. Third, he is a beast and by that I mean he is a maniac. He is like an overgrown puppy that doesn't realize his own strength. I'm interested to see how he plays with and treats the other children. All week Cailyn has been telling him "Will, you wanna go to sk-ewe-el with sissy?" and all week he shakes his head fervently "NO" and goes on about his business of taking a snack or toy away from his sister. If she doesn't have one, then he just wraps her up and takes her to the ground. (My day consists of a lot of "NOOO! WILL! I DON'T LIKE DAT!") Anyway, William was so excited for his first day...he fell asleep.
After I woke him up from his mini morning nap. He knew something was up. However he managed to give me a reluctant smile. The teachers at the Earling Learning Center, or as we've dubbed it, the ELC, are very personable and sweet. I received a text with a picture of him a few minutes after drop off. The teacher said "Tears didn't even last 5 minutes!" The picture was of Will playing in the kitchen area. His favorite thing to do. (Other than take things away from his sister of course.) Today is his second day and we shall see how things go from here. I'll definitely give an update as to whether or not he is going to forgive me. Until then I better run. I have to get the kids ready for sk-ewe-el.
