About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

baby quilt

My aunt, Maryellen, is quite the quilter. (Say that fast 5 times.) She has a real talent and makes the most beautiful quilts. When you read quilt you may think of some blanket that was on grannies guest bed for as long as you can remember. That's NOT the kind of quilt I'm talking about. Maryellen makes beautiful quilts and has for years. In fact she's made one for just about every member of my family except me. I don't say that to sound jealous it's just that her work is like art and frankly I'd like a piece of her art work in my house. Basically you can tell her what types of colors you like and what size and something about your style and a few weeks later a beautiful quilt is produced and it's so unique you almost would rather frame it than put it on the bed. Here is a quilt that she made for Cailyn.
I told her the basic colors of the nursery and this is what she came up with.

It looks like something you could only find in some expensive couture baby store.

The opposite side is contrasting but complimentary too.
Thanks Aunt Maryellen!
