About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

Happenings in a Hallmark

One day quite a few weeks ago I went to a Hallmark store to purchase cards for a late birthday, an upcoming birthday and something else that I can't recall. While browsing the birthday cards a very old lady crept up next to me in the aisle with her snazzy walker. She casually picked up a card and just as casually passed gas. It wasn't exactly quiet but it wasn't loud. I shot a glance in her direction but not wanting to stare or make her feel uncomfortable I just went back to my card ignoring anything written on the inside. I just needed to shift my focus. This lady never paused and I'm not sure if it's because she didn't hear it or if it was because she just didn't care. I had to walk over to a different aisle, take a seat and laugh silently. I came to realize a few things that day: 1) Getting older isn't so bad especially if it means I don't have to hold uncomfortable gas inside until I reach a restroom and 2) I believe even if I had stared at said lady, she wouldn't have felt uncomfortable once and that I can respect.
