About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

You can have your cake, and eat it too.

I mentioned previously that I had a roommate. A somewhat inconsiderate roommate. Said person once had a birthday cake while I was living with her. This was a regular sized sheet cake that a person might have at a regular sized birthday party. She told me that I was welcome to have a piece and I should help her eat it. After all it was a full sized birthday cake. I had a piece and then the next day I had a piece for dessert. The cake was on the countertop for about 4 days before I noticed it was suddenly missing. I wasn't quite sure what happened. Had someone had an extra-large piece of cake? Did she decide to feed the children? Did she have a sweet tooth supernova and decide to have it all? I can't remember exactly why I went into her bedroom. I believe it was to do my regular "dish sweep". On these sweeps I would find anywhere between 7 and 14 dirty dishes in her room with crusted cereal, icecream, milk or any number of other foods she never bothered to rinse. I glanced in her closet where I saw on the shelf a birthday cake. A half eaten birthday cake. She had stowed away her birthday cake in her closet! I remember calling her out for it sometime later and she had said "I thought you were going to eat it all!" and I guess instead of helping her eat it she only wanted to offer me ONE piece so she could have the rest. To this day I've never known someone to want an entire cake for themselves. I still don't know how to take it. I'm certain my cake eating wasn't out of control. However I am certain she is crazy.
