About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

Journey Concert

Back in June Steven bought me tickets to a Journey concert. That concert happened last night. It was a perfect night for rocking. The temperature was mild and with the exception of a strong breeze every now and then it couldn't have been better. The opening act was Night Ranger. I know two songs by them and one of them I heard for the first time the day of the concert. They only played one of those songs. However, those guys are still going strong and put on a pretty good show.

It was an extremely mixed crowd and outside of some major mom dancing I had fun just watching the people. I saw a guy vigorously remove his t-shirt right before the concert started only to replace it with nothing other than a leather vest. Another frequent passerby was a guy, great mullet and a Van Halen t-shirt. I couldn't help but think of the movie Joe Dirt with all the "rockers, through and through" walking around.

Pardon the poor quality of the picture. I only had my cell phone. If you look closely you can see the sweet jacket. With this crowd it almost made me want a mullet. Almost. I wish I could have been 20 in the 80s and seen Journey at their peak. I would have been front row, poofy bangs, acid wash jeans, bangles and neon without a doubt. I've actually never met anyone who has said, "Man, I really hated the 80s." No body hates the 80s. If you do I'd love to hear why. And if you love them like I did (Ok, so I was born in 1984, it was still a good year.) let me know what you loved best! Was it your mullet? Was it the really big curling iron you owned? The blue eye shadow? Eyeliner? Reeboks? End of the Cold War? Either way I want to know!

Thanks Jenn! I definitely love the music and you know what else I miss? The good country music of the 80s and early 90s. What has happened to it?
