Babysitters Club- Reason #2
I think kids are so funny but many people don't give them credit when it comes to intelligence. Kids are smart and more importantly kids really know what they want. Granted it might be things they don't need but atleast they know what they like and don't like. In the pre-K class where I worked with rabid ankle biters one week we focused on the color green and exploring all that is green. Food, nature, toys, objects etc. I was sitting at a table with two little boys and we were discussing different foods that are green. The normal came up apples, pears, grapes, watermelon. Just for fun I threw in broccoli. One small boy whose parents fed him chicken nuggets and hotdogs looked at me very confused. "What's broccoli?", and then quickly returned to the task at hand. Another boy replied "Oh I like broccoli!", the other again asked "What is it?" and I replied "Broccoli is a vegetable." In a split second he responded "Oh, no, no, no, I don't like that." He didn't know what it was but it only took one quick explanation for him to realise that he did NOT like it. That's why I admire kids. They know what they want.
