About Me

My photo
My husband and I have two children. One of each brand. Cailyn is 3 and William is almost 2. I spend my days cleaning up messes, playing dress-up, prince and princess, and hopefully doing my children a service by teaching them some manners and virtues.

On second thought

I recently posted an entry about how I'm aging so gracefully. I've more to add. I started a running program with a couple of my girlfriends here in the city. I haven't stuck with them quite as well as I should, but I've been doing a great job with running on my own and even on the weekends a few times. Our goal is to run in a 5k in October, the Race for the Cure. I've also got my best friend on board to run the same race. She's been taking it very seriously. Everything we read or any article she sends me reiterates the fact that we should have fun, don't worry about times, relax and enjoy yourself. Not us, we're determined to finish Top 10 (or 30) and we're training to do so. That's where my problem comes in.
Have I mentioned here before that I have huge feet? You may not have noticed because I'm also Amazon-esque in my stature standing a not too tall, or short, 5 feet 11 inches. What I'm trying to say is I have huge feet that don't look that awkward until you hold up a size 11 shoe. Which hardly ever happens because the stores don't carry women's sizes that large. So I usually have to make due with what's available thus causing me to age. Wait, that' doesn't make any sense.
:::moving on:::

I started running because its the ONLY excercise I'm motivated to do on a regular basis. I've been running 3-4 miles when I go which sounds great except for the whole aging process. Damn it. My first injury resulted in some funky popping thing my knee did. So that was weird. My second and most recent injury is my right foot aching. (I swear my arch is collapsing but Steve begs to differ,) Did I mention my thumb? It's achy too. I don't know how I'm going to make it but somehow, someway, somewhere I'm going to beat this whole aging process or atleast try to stall it out. I just need to figure out how because I obviously can't run away from it. It's catching up even quicker. I'll keep you posted on our progress. I'm participating in a run at the end of this month as a trial run!

We're going to win if it's the last thing we do...or at least place. I want more than just a tshirt.
