I was a fun kid. I know because my mom told me. She loves me more than my brother who apparently gave me his gun at a very young age. I hope you do not find the following photo disturbing. I'm sure the NRA would be proud to see that my parents raised us honoring the 2nd amendment. I'm sure the ACLU would be disappointed because...well...because frankly a 4 yr. old probably should not have a gun. But I had a great time.

Remember the birthday parties? I loved the birthday parties. Balloons, cake party favors. I got all the latest Barbie equipment, Cabbage Patch Kids, and pretty much anything else I wanted because my parents loved me more than my brother. Not really, but he always says that and I just agree.
Do you see that skinny broad over my left shoulder? The who is envying my toys? That's my best friend in the whole world. I made her sit back there because every time I went over to her house she made me sit on the side of her trampoline while she did all the cool tricks. Never mind that I was not flexible and could only do a somersault. I paid her back. I made her sit BEHIND me while I opened all the presents. That's the stuff real friendships are made of.
Not to mention the hair...oh the hair.
I could do all kinds of cool things with my hair back in the day.
None of which were quite as cool as what my mom could do.

That's the classic JC Penny photo session with the absolute serene background.
Oh and that's my punk of a brother. He grew up to be a Marine. He's tough stuff. Don't let the tie and short sleeve shirt fool you.
This photo explains why I bought my mother a Hallmark card saying: "So thankful you're my mother....and no longer my beautician."
Trust me people this is just the beginning of a number of sweet hairdo's I had absolutely no control over. I don't know though. If I could go back and be 5 again, would it be worth it to have to wear my hair like that? Some might say yes, I'm going to have to pass. Especially since this is just the tip of the iceberg.
